What is the proper task sequence for a bathroom remodel

We're renovating our bathroom ourselves, and we're finding conflicting
Beans
information about the sequence of tasks as part of the bathroom remodel.

Most say that the new tub should be installed near the end of the project,

while others say it should be installed almost as one of the first things

(we are replacing the steel/porcelain relic of a tub with a new acrylic

tub that is deeper and will probably have air jets).

Here is
my current order of events. Is there something out of place? Where should
the tub installation go?

1. Remove bathroom door, trim, sink.

2. Demo walls
3. Demo ceiling
4. Replace plumbing/replumb
shower for new fixtures
5. Rough in tub/faucets to check fit
6.
Install tub
7. Rough in heat/vent duct, install
8. Rough in
electrical/lights to check fit with medicine cabinet, mirrors, wall,
plumbing, etc
9. Install electrical
10. Insulate walls
11.
Install tub
12. Install Hardiebacker in shower
13. Install
greenboard rest of room
14. Tile shower
15. Install wainscotting
rest of room
16. Install shower door
17. Reinstall bathroom door
and trim
18. Tape and paint
19. Install mirrors, medicine
cabinet, towel bars, etc.

Thanks!

Your close.. I would leave door on to prevent dust from going
Peach
all over to the rest of the house. Since your doing the work your self you

can install the tub after demo since you ll be careful as not to damage it.

I would tape and mud your walls and prime. Then tile. This to keep the

tile a bit cleaner. The finish work save till last just like you have it.
Any questions you can e mail me through my avatar. Been doing it like
this for 20 years. GL

Sounds like you've got it about right. as far as the tub goes,
TAKUUN
most modern tubs have a flange around the edge that needs to go behind the

hardiboard. so obviously it needs to be installed before that. if you were

using an old claw foot tub or something like that, then of course you

would put it in after the flooring etc.
